ESCMID/ASM Conference on Drug Development 2024

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an urgent global health problem. New antimicrobial drug development is increasingly viewed as a priority by national and international bodies.

Co-sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), this multidisciplinary conference will cover the challenges, opportunities and current requirements for antimicrobial drug development to address antimicrobial resistance.

Focus on education and career development

Education and career development in CM & ID are of paramount importance to train the future professionals at the forefront of science and healthcare. That's why we are organising several activities aimed to empower our members with different tools to boost their education and career:

Focus on antimicrobial resistance and emerging infections

Antimicrobial resistance is a major strategic pillar for ESCMID, and we are looking forward to increasing our support around this important topic. This year we will welcome the full ESCMID AMR Action Committee who will work to coordinate and organise research opportunities, educational events, virtual learnings and more.

Another major priority of ESCMID is preparedness and response to emerging infections. The new ESCMID Emerging Infections Committee is being developed to provide surveillance/monitoring, guidance, educational, and research activities pertaining to emerging infections.

Stay tuned on ESCMID's channels for all the activities that will be performed!
