ECCMID 2024: Late-breaking abstracts submission is now open!

Late-breaking abstracts must pertain to new data that has not been published and was generated after the regular ECCMID 2024 abstracts submission.

For this year, we will exclusively consider abstracts in the following categories:

  • New drugs and vaccines
  • Clinical trials
  • New and emerging pathogens
  • Outbreaks and public health emergencies

Submission deadline is 14 February 2024, without possibility of extension.

You still have time to form your groups of four persons to participate in Selective Pressure. All ECCMID 2024 attendees are welcome to join this session for an interactive educational and entertaining experience. The moderator of the session is Prof. Jesús Rodríguez-Baño.

European Commission proposes measures to improve the availability of in vitro diagnostics

Following a statement of the BioMed Alliance about concerns regarding the availability of In Vitro Diagnostic Devices (IVDs) in Europe, the European Commission published a proposal to increase the time for companies to apply for the In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Regulation (IVDR), under certain conditions. This is an important step towards ensuring patient care by improving the availability of these essential healthcare products.

2024 Call for ESCMID Guidelines projects

The ESCMID Guidelines Subcommittee invites ESCMID members and ESCMID Study Groups to submit proposals for clinical practice guidelines projects in the following topics:

  • Infection control and ICU standard procedures to reduce VAP
  • Diagnosis and treatment of endovascular graft infections
  • Diagnosis and treatment of Q fever

Deadline for project submission is 3 April 2024.

ECCMID 2024 Art Gallery: a big thank you to all contributors!

The full ECCMID 2024 Art Book is available now on the ECCMID website. We received an outstanding number of over 150 pieces of original art, which will be shared with the ECCMID community during the congress, both onsite and in the published online book.
