The course delves into designing and implementing an antimicrobial stewardship programme (ASP) in a Southern European University hospital with low multidrug-resistant organism rates. Participants observe real-life ASP interventions, discuss impact measurement, and emphasize the collaborative synergy between infection control and ASP for effective antimicrobial management.

Dr. Xavier Lescure has been appointed as the new Director of the Emerging Infections Subcommittee

We welcome Dr. Xavier Lescure as the new Director of the Emerging Infections Subcommittee. In this new role, he will shape the development and strategy of the new subcommittee, as well as managing the ESCMID activities related to emerging infections.

Xavier Lescure is the deputy head of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at Bichat-Claude Bernard hospital (Paris, France), and Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Université Paris Cité. His research focuses on emerging infectious diseases, epidemic risk and antimicrobial stewardship. He gained high experience in the management of emerging infections and epidemic crisis, as former medical advisor for the Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and he is currently member of the French Committee for Monitoring and Anticipating Health Risks.

Empowering education at ECCMID 2024 - CME/CPD accreditation

ECCMID 2024 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 30 European CME credits (ECMECs). People viewing the recordings during the six-month period after the event has taken place are entitled to CME credits as well, in the same way as the participants to the live event.
