• Young Investigator Award: This award recognises excellence in research and fosters further work at a top scientific level. The prize of 5,000 EUR offers opportunities for professional growth.
  
  
• Emerging Young Investigator Award: This award recognises talented scientists from low- or lower-middle-income countries (LMIC) who shine in the fields of CM and ID. Awardees will receive 5,000 EUR to use for books, educational materials, attending congresses, or seeking specialised training. ESCMID also covers registration, travel, and accommodation fees for ESCMID Global during the year of the award.

Education

This onsite event is designed for researchers in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases, focusing on crafting clear research questions, selecting appropriate study designs, avoiding biases, and writing effective reports. Led by Marc Bonten and organised by ESGIE, ESGBIES, Ecraid and CMI, this workshop promises to enhance your research skills using cutting-edge methods and participants’ projects as examples.

This course explains the criteria and methods for determining breakpoints to antimicrobial agents and the EUCAST methods by which these are implemented and controlled in microbiological laboratories. Participants will also be able to get a hands-on experience involving practical work on susceptibility testing.
