The Study Group Collaboration Grant is a larger-scale grant for innovative research projects in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases organised by an experienced PI with the support of at least three ESCMID SGs. Designed for a maximum duration of two years, your project should be of high quality, with a focus on innovation and networking.

Date announced for next European Examination in Medical Microbiology

The UEMS Section of Medical Microbiology, in partnership with ESCMID, is pleased to announce the date for the next European Examination in Medical Microbiology.

The Examination is based on the curriculum which is part of the UEMS Core Training Programme of Medical Microbiology, current European best practice guidelines and recent pivotal publications in the major journals.

Ecraid Training Modules on Adaptive Clinical Trial Designs – new module available now

The next module of the Adaptive Clinical Trial Designs course - Module 5: “Platform trials and the personalised randomised controlled trial” - is now available. The fifth module in this series introduces platform trials and the personalised randomised controlled trial, explaining when and why these designs are useful, as well as what limitations are associated with them. The speakers offer real-life examples, such as the RECOVERY, REMAP-CAP, and NeoSep1 trials.

Call for panel members of ESCMID guidelines projects in 2025-2026

ESCMID is seeking candidates willing to serve on the panels which will develop the clinical practice guidelines for the following projects:

 

  1. ESCMID rapid guidelines on mpox. NEW!
  2. Infection Control Strategies and Interventions to prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia in adult patients.
  3. Selection and duration of antibiotic treatment in Infectious Aortitis (IA) and Vascular Graft and Endograft Infections (VGEI).
  4. Nomenclature, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic Q fever.
  5. The update of the 2021 European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Guidelines for the Treatment of Infections Caused by Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacilli.
