Read the newest update from the Emerging Infections Subcommittee on the Marburg virus disease outbreak in Rwanda
|
Up from September 2024 (with the first notification of cases to WHO on 28 September 2024), an outbreak of Marburg virus disease (MVD) emerged in Rwanda, East Africa, and it is now drawing to a close. This is due to a robust and well-coordinated public health response by Rwandan authorities, bolstered by strong South-South collaboration with partner countries across sub-Saharan Africa.

ECRAID Training Modules on Adaptive Clinical Trial Designs – new module coming up soon
|
The next module of the Adaptive Clinical Trial Designs course - Module 6: “Ethical and logistical considerations for adaptive trial designs” - will be available on 29 November 2024. The final module in this series describes some of the ethical, administrative, regulatory and legal challenges that one can encounter when planning and performing adaptive clinical trials. The speakers use their own experiences to advise on introducing adaptive designs to Ethics Review Committees and engaging trial sites in adaptive clinical trials.
