Highlights from the AMR Action Subcommittee

The ESCMID AMR Action Subcommittee would like to inform members about two landscape analyses that the WHO recently published on tests and treatments of fungal infections. An executive summary was written with the ESCMID Fungal Infections Study Group (EFISG) highlighting the importance to ESCMID members. You can read the full article on their website.

This three-day interactive course addresses the dynamic and evolving nature of infectious diseases, a core concern for clinical microbiologists and infectious disease specialists. The fourth edition of Ecraid and ESCMID’s postgraduate course “Better Methods for Clinical Studies in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology” will take place from 28 to 30 October 2025 in Athens, Greece.
This three-day course will provide participants with practical knowledge on how to phrase a research question, gain insights into selecting appropriate research designs and methodologies tailored to specific research objectives and acquire the necessary techniques for writing concise and informative research reports that effectively communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

The 6th ESCMID Conference on Vaccines is currently accepting abstracts to be included in the programme. Submissions that highlight innovative approaches, emerging technologies, and challenges in vaccine deployment, particularly in low-resource settings are encouraged. The ESCMID Guidelines Subcommittee invites ESCMID members and ESCMID Study Groups to submit proposals for clinical practice guidelines projects. Topics range from invasive streptococcal disease to antimicrobial stewardship interventions in primary care. You can see the full list of topics and how to submit on our website.
