Thanks for a successful Vaccines Conference
|
The 6th Conference on Vaccines was a resounding success last week with over 400 participants from almost 50 countries. Organised in collaboration with ESPID, EAHP and EMA, the conference pushed the boundaries of vaccinology and explored all areas from development to implementation. Sepsis guideline in public consultation phase

The draft document “Surviving Sepsis Campaign: International Guidelines for Management of Sepsis and Septic Shock 2026” is now available for public consultation. ESCMID members wishing to participate can learn more on our website. Comments must be submitted before 01 October 2025.

|
In the D.R Congo, 68 suspected Ebola cases and 16 deaths have been reported, but the global risk remains low. France recorded 383 locally acquired chikungunya cases and Italy 167, with major clusters in Bergerac and Carpi. West Nile virus continues spreading in Europe (652 cases, 38 deaths) and the USA (771 cases, 40% increase vs 2024). In Bangkok, Thailand, rabies outbreaks in dogs and cats prompted strict controls. Drug-resistant Candidozyma (Candida) auris is rapidly spreading in European hospitals, requiring urgent surveillance and infection control.
