ESCMID currently has public consultations open for two guidelines projects covering vaccination of adult solid organ transplant recipients and use of prolonged-1 infusion beta-lactam antibiotics among severely ill adult patients. ESCMID members are encouraged to review the documents and send back their feedback by the set deadlines.

In this week’s update you can find details on updated global measles case counts that show continued international resurgence, confirming measles as a major global public health threat. Chikungunya geographic spread appears to be continuing, with new introductions in Guatemala, French Guiana, and Costa Rica, plus rising case numbers in Brazil. Yellow fever cases have increased to 34, with 18 deaths, indicating sustained transmission and a substantial mortality burden. Reports of rabies deaths in India and Vietnam underscore rabies as a serious, preventable, dog-mediated threat.
