Chikungunya transmission is active across the Americas and the Indian Ocean, with Brazil reporting over 11k cases, Mauritius reaching 1.6k cumulative cases, Argentina recording 800 cases, and 31 travel-associated cases in Florida linked to Cuba. Malaria burden remains high in sub-Saharan Africa, with Zimbabwe reporting 5.9k cases and 24 deaths since January, and Uganda recording over one million cases between July 2025 and March 2026. Diphtheria is resurgent in Nigeria and Australia, both reflecting declining immunisation coverage. Thailand reports melioidosis cases and 23 deaths in early 2026 following a severe rainy season. South Korea has confirmed its first SFTS case of 2026; clinicians should screen for agricultural or outdoor exposure in febrile patients through November.
