Epi Alert: 09 June 2026
|
|
A public health emergency of international concern remains in effect for Bundibugyo ebolavirus disease, as containment efforts face critical gaps. In Southeast Asia, dengue cases have surged ahead of the traditional rainy season peak. Yemen is experiencing a severe malaria epidemic as of June 2026. In Nigeria, suspected cholera cases in Borno State have reached 4,000 linked to a contaminated dam. Globally, measles transmission remains a concern, with 75,708 suspected cases reported in Bangladesh, and over 500 cases in Japan, primarily driven by autochthonous transmission.
