The call for individual research grants is currently open and accepting projects in fungal/parasitic/viral infections. As part of this call there are also six special grants available for projects covering AMR, emerging infections or vaccines.
We are also pleased to offer additional grants in the “Women in Science” category which strengthens the foundation of female early-career researchers and does not require ESCMID membership to apply.

Prosthetic joint and fracture-related infections
|

This course focuses on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of implant-associated infections, with a special emphasis on prosthetic joint infections and fracture-related infections. Participants will gain a multidisciplinary perspective, combining expertise from infectious diseases, microbiology, and orthopaedic surgery.

An update on the rapidly expanding Bundibugyo virus outbreak situation in the DRC and Uganda, complicated by healthcare worker infections and an exported case to France. Mpox activity is intensifying across Africa, with clade Ib cases in Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau reporting its first confirmed case. A global update on the measles resurgence, dengue expanding in Singapore, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, and chikungunya in Costa Rica and the Philippines. Elsewhere, Palestine reported over 9,000 varicella cases amid displacement, and a multi-country European salmonellosis outbreak linked to alfalfa sprouts caused 109 cases.
